چکیده
Background: The aim was to investigate the antioxidant effects of lycopene and caffeine in rats exposed renal ischemia/reperfusion injury. Materials Methods: Following right nephrectomy, 60 minutes ischemia followed by reperfusion were performed 200-250 gram Wistar albino used study. 30 before ischemia, (5 mg/kg), (50 mg/kg) + administered intraperitoneally rats. After experiment, 4 ml blood left kidney taken from Tissue malondialdehyde, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase serum creatinine activities measured biochemically light microscopy findings evaluated histologically. Results: When effect against perfusion injury compared with other groups, a significant decrease found levels lycopene. Caffeine be high, but not statistically. malondialdehyde lower groups than group; although peroxidase no significance found. ischemia-reperfusion group, histopathological damage significantly groups. It that reduced apoptosis, tubular dilatation, epithelium degeneration, glomerular shrinkage, desquame proteinaceous cast amount significantly. Conclusions: While has high efficiency when caffeine, have protective

Renoprotective effects of GABA on ischemia/reperfusion- induced renal injury in hyperglycemic male and female rats
Introduction: Acute kidney injury (AKI) has been known as a complex clinical complication in diabetic patients. The main cause of AKI is ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI). This study was designed to investigate the protective effects of GABA on renal IRI in hyperglycemic female and male rats. Methods: Sixty STZ induced diabetic male and female Wistar rats were categorized in 10 groups (5 fem...
متن کاملCombination Antioxidant Effect of Erythropoietin and Melatonin on Renal Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Rats
Objective(s): Renal ischemia reperfusion (IR) contributes to the development of acute renal failure (ARF). Oxygen free radicals are considered to be principal components involved in the pathophysiological tissue alterations observed during renal IR. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of co-administration of melatonin (MEL) and erythropoietin (EPO), potent antioxidant and ...

Objective(s): This study investigated the protective effect of tanshinone IIA sodium sulfonate (TSS) on ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) induced cardiac injury, and the underlying mechanism of action. Materials and Methods:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to a 30-min coronary arterial occlusion followed by 24 hours' reperfusion. Half an hour before the left coronary artery ligation, rats were ...

15 صفحه اولBerberine Ameliorates Renal Functional Disorders and Pulmonary Tissue Injury Following Renal Ischemia/Reperfusion in Rats
Introduction: This study investigated the effect of berberine on renal dysfunction and histological damages of the lung induced by renal ischemia/ reperfusion at an early stage. Methods: There were four experimental groups of adult male rats (n=7). Seven days before induction of ischemia, the Ber+I/R group received oral (by gavage) berberine (15 mg/kg/day) while the I/R group received distil...
